J is for Jump rope! J is also for Jellyfish tentacle! Crosby brings in a jump rope for sound circle and it reminds me of a jellyfish tentacle. What better way to make this rather abstract concept tangible than by straightening it out and measuring it. Yup! It's 9 feet long...just the right size for the slimy tentacle of a jellyfish. Nice connection, Crosby!
Our read aloud today was about recognizing feelings, leaning into them, validating their existence and moving through them. This is a very powerful book about the coming and going of emotions...a great read for kiddos with big feels!
