One way that we teach self-control and self-regulation skills in our classroom is through games.  Today we played "Freeze Dance" before we headed out for recess.  Learning how to stop our bodies even when they are BIG and BUSY and HAVING FUN is an important skill.  It ultimately teaches us to immediately stop when someone tells us NO or STOP.  Balancing the rights of ourselves and others is not easy, but very necessary :)

Our new friend Callen enjoys the wooden marble works with Tyler, Jack and Raylan.  Everyone has been so warm and welcoming to our new Discoverer...it has really showed us that our classroom culture is that of kindness, respect and community.  We are so proud!

Frozen water marbles are the best!  So much fun to carry around, smash into pieces and slide down the slides!

This morning we emptied out our texture tables and put the water marbles into smaller containers.  We look forward to watching them freeze outside during this arctic blast...stay tuned!
