Wednesday Work :)

I was hiding under the tire yesterday at recess.  Weston stumbled upon me as he was walking by :)

Our incredible Discovery Board is complete!  Now this is how you kick off a week of "Love Who You Are!"

Once we collect all of the family photos that you send in, we will talk extensively about our families and what makes them so special!

 

Be Who You Are!

Friends do a wonderful job during quiet choices today.  Everyone was busy working on drawing, completing puzzles or reading books.  

We just LOVE Todd Parr and his beautiful books!  Be Who You Are was a great story to kick off our "Love Who You Are" unit.  We will continue to learn more and more about each other over the next week or so as we talk about our families, our likes/dislikes, or hopes, dreams and wishes, what makes us unique and how we can celebrate our similarities and diversity each and every day.

Evan is our first friend to do Show and Tell and he totally knocks it out of the park.  Way to go, Ev!

We earned three trinkets this morning for such a stellar morning meeting.  One for listening, one for making great choices for ourselves and one for going above and beyond.  Woohoo!

Friends watch an Ask the Storybots episode called "What makes people look different?" before lunch.  A great way to incorporate a little science into our All About Me work.

 

Brain Builders!

Friends work together to attach PVC pipes on a mission to create race tracks for our cars.

More like a car TRAP!  Myles' U-shaped track is full of cars!

We've spent the last few weeks working very hard to create a peaceful, safe, respectful and kind classroom space.  Howard B. Wigglebottom teaches us an important lesson in how listening and being aware of our words and actions can play a large part in such a great working/playing space :)

Crosby and Garrett make a "submersible" during morning recess.  "This goes REALLY deep under the ocean water!"  How cool!

A broken plate on our playground gives us the unexpected opportunity to put the pieces together just like a puzzle.

Meredith thinks that it's hilarious that her dress covers her eyes as she swings back and forth...so silly!
