Cookie Decorating (and Eating!)

Thanks for the delicious cookies, Frankie!  We loved decorating them this morning, but the highlight was definitely EATING them!

Number Recognition and Quantifying

To practice our number recognition and quantifying, we play a fun game during morning activities.

"Do you recognize any of these numbers?"

"Can you match the written numbers with the same group of wooden pegs?"

"Now can you count out how many bears belong in each group?"

The Letter J (and so much more!)

Those snow angels are GORGEOUS!

I is for Ice Cream! We use pom-poms and scoopers to play ice cream shop :)

Friends practice writing names during Quiet Choices. 

During recess, we notice that the shaded areas on our playground are frosty and frozen while the areas in the sun aren't.  

We have a wonderful discussion about the sun and how it warms areas up, melting the frost.

Science is everywhere! 

Oh dear!  Frankie is stuck!  I assure you that no kiddos were harmed during this escapade (I even asked politely if I could take her photo before rescuing her :)

What else would you do with your leftover gourds?!?!?!  We use them to chip, shatter, and crash the ice out on our playground.  Who knew that gourds were such great tools?
