A Great Start to Our Week!

Our classroom looked so cozy during the storm yesterday morning.

Crosby realizes that his dragon doesn't quite fit in his magnatile structure.

What's a kid to do?!?!  Be flexible and problem solve of course!

He measures the tiles, readjusts and rebuilds...awesome!

"Ms. Christina...how do you spell Mommy?"

These are the wonderful organic moments where we practice our letter/sound recognition and writing.

We love capitalizing on those learning opportunities!

In our classroom, we read one chapter book a week.  We LOOOOVE The Magic Tree House series.  Yesterday, we started reading book #1 Dinosaurs Before Dark.  Ask your kiddos all about what's happened in the first 4 chapters!

In the Discoverers classroom, we always pair books with what we are learning about.

To continue our social/emotional work, we read the book I am Peace today during afternoon meeting.

This was a great way to connect mindfulness and our new "five finger breathing" technique.

Teamwork and a lesson in responsibility!  Finn and Crosby help to clean up sand that they spilled.  

Who doesn't love playing outside after an epic storm?!?!?!
