Today during morning meeting, we introduced the word ESTIMATE to friends.
We decided together that an estimate is a math word that means to guess the amount of something...we added to this definition that this guess needs to make sense and not be wild and crazy.
Before we counted our trinkets, we had the chance to share our estimates with the group.
Then we counted our trinkets, recognizing each estimate as we went, grouping them by 10s and connecting patterns in the higher numbers.
PHEW! That's a lot of math work!
We counted 65 trinkets, then figured out that we need 35 more to get to our next 100 trinket celebration.
