J is for JUMP! How high can you jump? How far can you jump?
Ms. Katie works with friends to find out during morning recess.
What a great way to work with math concepts such as height, length, inches, more than, less than. etc. Friends even work on number recognition and number writing by recording their jump heights and lengths :) Awesome!
Lucas and Isabelle use our large PVC pipe is some super creative ways.
"Fire the cannons!"
All of this soft earth gives us a wonderful canvas to explore.
Crosby uses a stick to swirl out small holes in the mud and I explain to him how there is a tool called an auger that does something very similar. Tad and Logan diligently "excavate" a construction site near the school.
Weston becomes hopelessly stuck in the mud and his friends quickly come to the rescue...at least for a minute :) Don't worry...we finally got him out!
Conor uses a large stick to break apart the last of our ice. There's nothing quite like smashing, bashing, crushing and cracking things with a stick!
Brownies anyone?
The sign of a truly fantastic recess...
The book on tape Sheep in a Jeep reminds us of our recess that we just came in from...mud, getting stuck, teamwork, J is for Jeep and Ms. Christina rescuing friends from the ooey gooey mud!
