Letter C Sound Circle and SO MUCH MORE!

More computer work today.  There are some great early literacy skills being used here:  hand/eye coordination with the mouse, matching upper and lowercase letters, letter recognition, letter sounds and fine motor control.  Awesome!

Speaking of fine motor control...Garrett has been working so hard on having a strong, controlled grip while signing in.  Excellent work, Garrett...looking nice and strong!

C is for castle...a sand castle made of kinetic sand!

Isabelle draws a picture of someone dreaming of a cup of cocoa...what a clever C picture to add to our wall.

C is for Construction!  One of our focuses over the next two weeks while working on the letter C will be Construction.  The lovely librarians at Brownell Library gathered up some pretty great books for us to enjoy.  Garrett and Crosby, our resident construction gurus, LOVE checking these books out in the block area.  What a great connection to read about construction vehicles and then to build and act out what they are seeing in the books!

What's better than one castle?  Two castles of course!

C is for Coloring Cakes and Cars on the Computer!  Friends explore Microsoft Paint during morning free choice...what a blast from the past!

C is for Cement...well, eventually it will be.  Ms. Katie and I plan to create a small race track/road on our playground for friends to use cars and construction vehicles on.  Today we begin construction to bring this plan to fruition.  We will keep you posted on our progress!

During morning meeting before snack, we read a sweet, hilarious book called Creaky Old House.  Ask your kiddo what was so funny about this book!

Yesterday, we read a story about what makes you "cool."  Turns out it is being kind, helpful and understanding.  What a powerful message :)

Our letter C sound circle!  Ask your child which items they remember seeing.

Tad's show and tell connected perfectly with the letter of the week...a camera with photos of his cars and cat!  Very clever, Tad!

Look at all of this wonderful, creative artwork!  And so much of it connects to the letter C.

A Queen amongst her castles :)

"Look, Ms. Christina!  We made a creaky old house just like in the book!"
Wow!  You certainly did, Garrett, Myles and Andy...way to go!
