Be KIND, Be FLEXIBLE, Be SAFE, Be RESPECTFUL! BE YOU!

Today (and every day) we honor the core values that make our classroom such a wonderful place to be!
KINDNESS
SAFETY
FLEXIBILITY
RESPECT

We display the infamous robin's nest from Lucas' house in our classroom.  Friends LOVE checking out the nest up close and personal...what a great opportunity!

During morning meeting, we read the book Birds Make Nests and talk about all the different nests that birds can make.  We discover that the robin's nest is a cup nest and agree that it looks just like the nest in the book!

"If you were a bird, what would you make your nest out of?"
Another great way to tie in all of our bird work is with our daily reflections.

Lucas works so hard on this amazing drawing.
"Lucas, tell me about this drawing.  Who is this?"
"You know who it is, Ms. Christina..."
(admittedly, I had no idea who this was...) "Ummmm...Blippy?"
"YES!"
Nothing a little Google couldn't solve!  Great work, Lucas!

"Ms. Christina, how do you write I LOVE MY FAMILY?"

Friends work together to rake and transport leaves to our new compost bin.  What great teamwork!

Crosby from the Explorers has the wonderful idea of loading up the construction vehicles with old squishy gourds/pumpkins and transporting them to the compost bin.  Mae takes notice and joins in and soon, we have a legit operation happening out on our playground :)
