Birds, Birds, Birds!

What better way to spend Election Day together than to read this amazing book?!
Our classroom wish is to elect a president who is a kind and capable leader who wants to make our world a safe and wonderful place for all humans.

Another second-hand score...check out this new wooden calendar!  What a great way to explore the months of the year and work on our number recognition!

B is for Bird Beaks and Bills!  Ms. Juli works with us to research various birds and their beak/bill size, shape and functions.  What a great way to dive even deeper into the world of birds and enhance our learning!

Crosby takes a break from all of the bird work and builds an amazing garage for his construction vehicles.  Nice job, Crosby...we love the multiple compartments!

B is for Bird!  An eagle to be exact.  Nice work, Isabelle!

B is for Baby Birds!  What an incredible story that Lucas and his family have to share about these sweet little birdies!

We always have research books on hand to find out more facts!  Here, we check out more information about the nesting and feeding habits of the common robin redbreast bird.

This summer, Lucas and his family had some unexpected visitors.  Yesterday, he shared this amazing story of how a family of Robins nested above the ceiling fan of his front porch :)  Mom and Dad shared some INCREDIBLE photos of this adventure with us and we, in turn, shared them with the class during morning meeting.  Lucas did a great job of filling in the details and walking us through the entire sequence of how those sweet little blue eggs turned into strong, healthy robins that flew from their nest.
Awesome job, Lucas!

B is for Beads!  Messy, staticky, oh-so fun Beads :)
