The Letter A!

Today during morning meeting, we introduced the first letter of the week.  We read Abby the Alligator in our Alphatales book and then worked together to create a word list of words that began with the letter Aa.  Ask your child which word he/she contributed to our list!

Our birthday boy, Kai, works super hard on creating his own book during quiet choices.  A is for Author!

Alice joins in on the book making fun and creates an alphabet book.
A is for Alphabet!

After cleaning out some of my jewelry at home, friends put my donation to good use in the dramatic play area.  Wow...check out that bling, Addy!

We began working on our Daily Reflections last week.  Each day after rest time, children will be given a prompt for them to ponder, organize, illustrate and eventually write themselves.  We collect these writing prompts and responses throughout the year and return them at graduation as a book.  It's a wonderful way to get children thinking about BIG issues (what is one way that we can help to keep our Earth healthy?), silly make-believe questions (if you were a robot, what would you look like?) or curriculum ideas that connect what we are doing in the classroom (can you think of an animal that begins with the letter B?).  Stay tuned for these awesome thought-provoking reflections :)
