Our Trip to The Miniature Farm!

We had a blast at The Miniature Farm LLC in Milton today!  We saw chickens, ponies, bunnies, goats and horses.  We loved being able to roam about with the animals.  Everyone was so gentle and calm and did a great job following directions.  Well done, everyone!

Before we left for our field trip this morning, we experimented with playdough and our letter stones.  Whitney uses the letter W to make an imprint.  "Hey! W is for Whitney!"

Scrub, Scrub, Scrub!

Friends help to scrub our cement pavers during morning recess.  We are preparing to paint them and add the numbers 1-10 for our outdoor hopscotch.  Thanks for all of the hard work, friends!

During morning meeting, someone asks whether or not we will see cows on our field trip to the miniature farm tomorrow.  This turned into a wonderful conversation about which animals we generally see on a farm and what exactly the word miniature means.  We switched our thinking and began naming small, baby farm animals.
Check out our list and stay tuned...we will let you know what we see.
I'm personally hoping for some unicorns and gorillas! :)

Creative Kids!

Today we took our creativity outside and did some painting in the glorious sunshine.
We are all wonderful artists...check out that masterpiece!

We work on our second round of Self Portraits using a mirror and dry erase markers.  What a creative way to see and draw ourselves!

Addie uses the geometric shapes and is very proud of her designs.  Nice work, Addie!

Our resident scientist, Cassadee, checks out the nature table during morning free choice.

Thanks to Whitney's mom, we are able to read Will You Fill My Bucket? Daily Acts of Love Around the World during morning meeting.  What a nice way to wrap up our Bucket Filling unit.
Thank you, Sara!
