Teaching Independence and Responsibility

Alice, our marine biologist for the week, feeds our fish Viva during morning free choice.  Having jobs around our classroom creates independence and responsibility.  It also encourages respect for our classroom, materials and the people we share our space with.

Kai delivers birthday invitations to his friends.  Having Kai do this himself encourages independence and is a great way for him to work on letter recognition.  Way to go, Kai!

More Self Portraits!

All Mixed Up!

As part of our "All About Me" unit this week, Ms. Katie creates an awesome game for us to play.  Can you find your eyes?  Your nose?  Your mouth?  How about your friends?
We have a blast mixing up our faces as well...so much fun!

Self Portraits Round One

Friends work on their first round of self portraits using dry erase boards and markers this morning. Our goal is to do several rounds of self portraits throughout the year, each time using a different art medium.  Stay tuned for more!

Is there anything better than playing in the mud after an evening of rain?!?!?!

There were plenty of "Seek and Eat" missions in the garden this morning.
"I found a sweet, ripe tomato baby!" exclaims Peter :)
