Today during morning meeting, we read the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today?
written by Carol McCloud.
As part of our community building, we start off the year with this wonderful book to teach children about how our words and actions can impact others.
This book describes how each person carries around an invisible bucket that holds their thoughts and feelings and how we all have the power to fill people's buckets (and our own!) with kindness, patience and compassion. Ask your child what he/she took away from the story!
"We are each unique and beautiful, but together we are a masterpiece."
Our friendship wreath is finished!
Friends help make a new batch of slime during morning free choice!
Lillian notices that the slime makes a wonderfully squeaky, squelchy sound when you squeeze it. Great observation, Lillian!
"Look how long this snake is! I just keep rolling it and rolling it and rolling it!"
Blake also notices the squelchy sound of the slime and giggles a bit when it makes a loud
BLAAARP sound :)
Kurtis sorts the animals into different colored houses...nice sorting!
Ms. Laina works with friends at the dry erase boards this morning. So many artists we have!
We love books on tape!
Using teamwork to finish up those puzzles!
Friends work together to make a "habitat" for the centipedes, rolly-pollies, ants, spiders and moths they collect during morning recess.
Wow! Check out these wonderful scientists and nature lovers at work!
